Progress:
Hello there! So for my first museum, I decided to go to the Long Beach Museum of Art since it was pretty close! The front of the museum looked like the picture so you could tell that it was pretty hard to miss it!
Once in a while, the theme would change but this time it was called "Vitality and Verve." Being the curious person I am, I knew that these were not just random words put together. Vitality actually means "the state of being strong and active; energy" and verve means "vigor and spirit or enthusiasm."

The first piece of "art" I found when I first walked in was a bunch of multicolored yarn hanging from the ceiling. Already, I was amazed and it was just by the front door! This made me more excited, too!
Prior to visiting this museum, I searched up some pictures people took so I knew what to expect. I found that it was almost impossible to get a picture of all the colors of the yarn unless you took a picture while you were lying down!

As I continue walking, I found out that art did not always have to be a painting on canvas or at least 2-D. These were some of the 3-D sculptures I found fascinating!
My favorite piece is the one with three polar bears. I really liked how simple just layered pieces of wood could represent an animal we are all familiar with.
I also enjoyed the "stage" one because you were actually allowed to sit on the chairs and observe the sculptures.

Finally, I got to the painting I was most excited for. This painting was drawn by Audrey Kawasaki. I have always seen her paintings sold but I never knew who it was designed by until I came here! This museum allowed me to find the name of my favorite painter!
The art did not even have to be a painting or sculpture either! These are photographs!
PS. I found this really cool wall painting that I knew I had to take an "artsy" photo with!
Reflection:
Overall, I had a great time at this museum. It was all I was looking forward to after school. I was extremely excited to experience the art myself after getting a preview from the pictures people posted. Although it was a small museum, I felt like there was so much to see there! Most art pieces I have seen were just 2-D paintings and drawings but Long Beach really opened my perspective and overwhelmed me with the 3-D art they presented.
Did I mention there was a view of the ocean too?!

I would like to thank the amazing artists presented on the list below because without their hard work and creativity, the Long Beach Museum of Art may not even exist for observers like me to attend!
